Dear Pup-Clients, Guardians of XANADU Dogs, Friends of XANADU and ALL FRIENDS,
In the all-embracing spirit of winter holidays, I wish Merry, and Happy, Peace and Good Will to all of us children of Mother Earth. And I wish you good times during these holidays and good memories of 2014. I hope that your dogs of Christmas Past rest in peace and in your heart. And I wish your dogs of Christmas Present long and healthy lives and close companionship with long-lived, healthy you. And I hope that each one of you who searches for a new best friend-puppy finds that friend soon, and I hope I can help. May your experience with this new friend bring laughter and sloppy kisses. May our attention embrace the joys of the present and nurture gratitude for each moment.
This year, XANADU celebrates retiring moms and dads with photos and grateful memories of their contributions to XANADU’S lineages. Their new Guardian pups were selected to carry on the characteristics for which XANADU breeds: temperament, total health, and the things that you love in a family dog, like low-barkiness, reliable temperament, trainability, a strong desire to snuggle-with-you-on-the-couch, unusual beauty, the odd homing abilities in some lines, mind-reading abilities of other lineages, and so much more that makes a XANADU a XANADU.
We also celebrate Nathan and Stephanie who are helping XANADU with our new website, Facebook, and with advertising. These patient people have talents I don’t have. XANADU also celebrates Mark, who comes by several times a week to help with the puppies and their environment. Also, thank you, Sarah, for so beautifully organizing XANADU’S LLC and for making our Guardian Agreements what they should have been in the first place. XANADU has never had help / employees before, except for my family who permits my continuous dedication. Thanks to my family, too.
XANADU pauses to say to YOU, “Hello,” and “Thank You,” and “Yes!” and “Hallelujah,” and to wish you warm holidays and peaceful adventures in 2015. Short sketches of our new Guardian pups and retiring breeding dogs follow. Thank YOU for your role in our mutual success.

Our Retirees
Happy, lovely, PENNY fulfilled her breeding agreement with XANADU with her Goberian litter and has retired.
XANADU’S SKY retired from XANADU’S breeding program this year. He is still available as a stud dog to qualifying outside females who have had the following genetic tests: PRA, OFA or PennHip testing, CERF, and have no known problems with heart, lungs, stifles, etc. “Qualifying” means having a long talk with me regarding Sky’s strengths and weaknesses and the proposed dam’s strengths and weaknesses. We all like to think that our breeding dogs are as good as they can be, and we are proud of them. Also, we all know when a tested breeding dog’s hips aren’t too good, if a dog is too bouncy or too calm, etc. Sometimes a “fair” rating of such characteristics can be balanced to improve a special lineage that should continue.

CHARITY retired from XANADU’S breeding program this year, and will not have future litters. Her good qualities have contributed to the personalities of Guardians Sage, Rusty, Lazlo, and Chase. Chase is the sire of Segway’s 2014 Goldendoodle Holiday litter (pups available).
AKC SIBERIAN HUSKY, FEATHER, is retired from XANADU after her 2014 litter of Pomsky puppies. She brought a gentle temperament, soft plush coat, mask, and blue eyes with black eye liner to XANADU—and I was absolutely in love with this special girl when she was just a little pup.

Our New Family Members
DOB 3/14 UNO is our “singleton” Guardian Home female from the pairing of Jazz and Rumi Wyldfyr. She is VERY bright, very pretty, and very busy. I think she looks like Bo, the Obama family’s first “First Dog.” Uno’s first litter will be by a CALM outside stud—or possibly by Comet or Gypsy Will.
|
DOB 4/14 Registered GYPSY WILL, a male Cockerpoo Guardian with vivid parti-colors, blue eyes, and a happy personality, has joined XANADU’S stud dog force. We purchase / trade for excellent pups in order to have unrelated breeding dogs with the qualities XANADU promotes. I already think of Gypsy Will and Ivory and a future mini Australian Labradoodle litter...
|
DOB 7/14 FIREFLY is the daughter of beautiful Feather and of sire, Bleu, from FL. She is a lovely red-chocolate with her mom’s and dad’s pretty blue eyes. Her first litter could be by Gypsy Will, or River, or possibly River’s son, Comet.
|
DOB 7/14 CAN-CAN, beautiful blue-merle, bandit-masked, blue-eyed Can-Can is also the daughter of Feather and Bleu. Her mate(s) have not yet been chosen, but the selection will include the same stud considerations as for Firefly.
|
DOB 7/14 ASHOKA is the male Guardian pup of Feather and Bleu. His coat is like fluffy Egyptian cotton, and he looks like his mom. Ashoka has blue eyes like his parents, is gorgeous, smart, and the biggest pup of Feather’s litter. ASHOKA is an active, busy boy who will be bred to CALM females—like our new Bernerdoodle X Guardian female, Ginger, or Ebony. ASHOKA MAY also have a litter with Stardust or Padma.
|
DOB 7/14 registered COCKER SPANIEL, G-i-r-r-r-l, also has vivid colors and blue (sometimes green) eyes, a happy, FUNNY personality, and marvelous ears (a vanity feature that I love). G-i-r-r-r-l could have pups by River, by Ashoka, and by Rising Son…
|
DOB 7/14 GOBERIAN CHINOOK, male Guardian son of XANADU’S Sybil and High Mesa Huskies’ Adom was selected to be the primary Guardian from this amazing Goberian litter. Chinook has one blue eye and one brown eye, has Siberian markings and mask, and a personality that shows his Golden Retriever heritage. Pups from this litter are not barky, are extremely friendly and don’t chew on people, are beautiful, house trained themselves, some can read minds, and all were fun to have around! Of course, I fell in love with some of the pups in this litter.
|
DOB 7/14 GOBERIAN POLAR BEAR BOY is another male Guardian from Sybil and Adom’s litter. POLAR was selected to have 2 litters because of his friendliness, absolute non-barkiness, his joie d’ vivre, symmetry and very soft coat.
|
DOB 8/14 GOBERIAN PUP-CHARMING is the Guardian male from Penny and outside stud, white AKC Siberian Husky, Saint. Pup-Charming has one blue eye and is white and soft-coated like his dad.
|
Coming Soon!
Bernedoodle, HUSHPUPPY, and Yellow Lab, PETE, have a litter of eight that will be ready for new homes from Jan 7 ff. Two Guardians have been selected, a gold with white markings female, GINGER, and a gold male pup, RISING SON, who has some unusual markings. These pups should grow to be 60 to 80-pound GENTLE giants.
